TITAN VERSION 2.5 RELEASED

April 07, 2008 Ontario, Canada, version 2.5 of Titan – Motion Simulator Control is now available from FreedomWorks Inc. With the release of 2.5 FreedomWorks lifts the motion simulator hardware performance to a higher level of response and improved safety.

At a glance

Dramatic improvements in performance and stability have been achieved by integrating multiple threads which optimizes processing for incoming telemetry and outgoing motion control. We improved the timing of our algorithms by integrating extremely accurate, high resolution timers. Improved timing allows for better motion platform response and “tuning” control. E-stop and watchdog algorithms have been added to increase safety. Two different operations mode have been created to further enhance safety. The first mode which is password protected is used to setup or “tune” the motion platform generating a specific motion performance envelope. The second mode operates the motion hardware but restricts users from making changes to the performance profile developed during the tuning process. By restricting access to the motion envelop we minimize inadvertent changes that may degrade hardware response.

Titan is a software application which controls the position and/or velocity of an electric servo motion system. Titan provides the ability to fine tune motion performance characteristics through a simple intuitive user interface. Motion data is generated by a simulation like X-Plane or Train Simulator. This data is read and interpreted by Titan which commands the hardware motion platform to move in response to the simulation telemetry.
